Custom connections depend on your host, plan and workspace permissions. QuoteBuild’s authenticated ChatGPT and Claude workflows are still undergoing verification.
- ChatGPT: Where your account permits it, open Settings → Apps → Create, enter the address, choose OAuth and scan the tools. Check OpenAI’s current plan and setup requirements first.
- Claude: Open Settings → Connectors, add a custom connector and enter the address. Connect your QuoteBuild account when prompted. See Claude’s current setup guide.

If the connection option is missing, check your host’s plan and workspace permissions. If access expires, reconnect. You can review or revoke QuoteBuild access in chat connection settings.

Does a calculator result include labour and current supplier prices?
Do not assume it does. Confirm labour inclusion for the selected calculator and review every allowance. QuoteBuild calculator rates are baseline estimating allowances, not live supplier quotations. A calculation with default inputs is an example until you confirm the job details.
Does a scope check mean my quote is ready to send?
No. Line checks help identify incomplete entries. You still need to review missing work, quantities, rates, assumptions and exclusions before sending a quote.
Is markup the same as profit margin?
No. Markup adds a percentage to cost; gross margin measures profit as a share of the selling price. Tell your assistant which you intend and review the calculation before using it.

No. The chat helps turn a rough brief into the right questions and chooses the correct QuoteBuild calculator. QuoteBuild runs the versioned formula, rates, margin, contingency and VAT calculations, then returns the assumptions and warnings for review.
What can I do through a QuoteBuild chat connection?
You can run supported calculators, compare scenarios, review estimate scope, and—after signing in—work with your own jobs, estimates, quotes, costs, variations, invoices, files and reports. You can attach a supplier receipt to a live cost or customer payment proof to an invoice. Uploading proof never marks an invoice paid: that needs a separate confirmation. Sending a quote, variation or invoice also always needs confirmation for the exact current payload.
Can I connect QuoteBuild to other AI models?
